For the past week, students have been learning about the two kinds of properties that describe Matter, Physical and Chemical. Students have worked through different activities to identify physical properties of Matter. Through these tasks, students began to understand that a physical property is a characteristic of a substance that can be observed without changing it into another substance (ex. texture); a chemical property is a characteristic of a substance that describes its ability to change into a different substance (ex. flammability).
Students will have their first quiz over these ideas on Tuesday, 9/26. They should review pages 5-7 in their Science books to review the information.
